EMMETSBURG COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Special Meeting 

Board of Education

September 8, 2026

 

The Board of Education of Emmetsburg Community School District met in a special session on September 8, 2026 at 12:00 PM  in the Central Office Board Room. 

 

Present: Bruce Nelson, Brian Brown, Sarah Brugman, Morgan Grimm, Val Morton via Google

Absent:   Kyle Caven, Bill Huberty

Also Present:  Cory Jenness, Alyssa Enderson, Tracie Christensen

 

Morgan Grimm, Vice President called the meeting to order at 12:00 PM. 

 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion by Nelson to approve the agenda as presented. Seconded by Brown. All voted affirmative. Motion carried.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Personnel:  Brugman motioned  to approve the following resignations: Briar Rowley- Custodian and Head Baseball Coach, and Jason Holt- HS Industrial Technology Teacher; and the following new hires: Lea VanBuskirk- Elementary Paraeducator, Jayden Enderson- Part Time Student Paraeducator, Nacole Darling- HS Paraeducator, Amber Christensen- HS Yearbook Advisor, and Nathanael Ruiz- HS Vocal Teacher (2nd Semester pending certification and licensure). Seconded by Nelson. All members voted in favor. Motion carried. 

 

ADDITIONAL ITEMS 

 

Next Regular Board Meeting is September 16th at 6:30 AM

ADJOURNMENT:  Nelson motioned to adjourn the meeting at 12:04 PM. Second Grimm. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
